I was at Purple Door, which incidentally was this past weekend. For those of you who don't know, Purple Door is a popular, Christian music festival down in Lancaster, PA, and it focuses mainly on indie and metal bands. This year was the first year I didn't go in probably four years. I had to work that day, dangit. So I was at Purple Door watching the band For Today perform with a bunch of my high school buddies. Which is odd, because those friends are never there. So I was standing there just kinda bobbing my head and tapping my feet when all of a sudden I got the urge to just seriously DANCE! Strangely, there was no mosh pit started, and I was feeling too shy to start one, so I made a circle for myself like I was going to start one, and I just started walking back and forth, pacing with an intermittent "hardcore" foot stomp here and there and a nasty smile on my face. I kept this up for a little bit, when the band started playing their slower, worshipful songs. They broke into one of my favorites, "Talmidim" (Video below), and my best friend Dan all of a sudden jumped up on stage and started preaching. This wasn't any normal preaching, but this was Spirit-filled, in your face preaching. Have to admit, I was pretty proud of him.
After that stopped, I found myself sitting at home looking through podcasts on iTunes. I found my Adolescent Psychology professor's (Astor-Stetson) personal podcast and I began listening to it. She was talking about how she was also at Purple Door and really liked the format this year since it was a one day event instead of it's normal two-day format. Then she began talking about how her friends had been there and really enjoyed it and all this stuff.
...Then I woke up.
